ConductorJake Nielsen - Piano
Jake has been teaching since 1993. He has played for his church for over 20 years, and he enjoys many styles of music. He started in 'music lessons in your home' in 2000, and has played in various bands throughout the Richmond area. He studied music at VCU under Russel Wilson, and he continues to study in the few moments he has to. He has a beautiful wife and 2 awesome kids. You can see a student of Jake's perform. Adam Young - Drums - Adam been playing drums since 1988, and started teaching in 1998. He studied at VCU and JSR, and specializes in many styles of drum set and snare drum. He teaches beginner to advanced level students. Adam has played with many bands in the Richmond area, and he currently plays with The Matt Koon Foundation. You can hear a sample at www.myspace.com/themattkoonfoundation. Adam is married with 2 children.

Laura McIntyre - Voice
Laura has been teaching since 2003. She has performed in numerous plays throughout the Tidewater area, and sings actively with her church. She earned her degree in music, dance and theater from BYU. She's also worked as a director in musical theater, and she has experience in television and film. Laura is currently accepting voice students ages 14 and up.

Sheena Wade - Piano
Sheena has a diverse musical background. She has played keyboards for the widely known Richmond-based band 59H2O. She studied at VCU under , and she also plays . Sheena is accepting beginner to intermediate students, and she teaches all styles of music. In her spare time, she enjoys composing, and

David Tetlow - Guitar
David teaches mostly rock, and some classical, from beginner to advanced. He's been playing since 1966 and has been in several bands, one of which was 'My Uncle's Old Army Buddies'. He's currently in 3 bands. He studied music at VCU, and he also does some composing. When not playing guitar, he spends way too much time on the computer, reading about volcanoes, earthquakes and plate tectonics.

Frank Phillips - Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums, Trumpet
Frank studied music at Berry College, while performing with the Premiers and Perry Hayes and the Institution. He played with other "Soul" bands that performed in the Tri-Cities and Virginia Beach areas. He loves all types of music, but leans towards improvisational styles, mostly the blues, when learning or writing songs. He started teaching music as a means to improve his own playing. He enjoys blues/boogie woogie piano, rock and blues drums and blues/rock/jazz guitar. Frank is married, and has a 6 year old daughter.

David Paul - Piano, Guitar and Bass
David teaches all styles including jazz, blues, country, rock and classical. He played lead guitar in several working bands during the 70's through the 90's. He was lead guitarist/vocalist for Al Chenault's "High Country" band, and lead guitarist/vocalist for "The Dixie Bandits". He has written numerous songs and over 60 poems. He is published in the International Library of Poetry's "Who's Who In Poetry" 2004, and 2006 editions. (See www.poetry.com) He's married and has a son. David is also a professional working magician, and is currently a member of the 3 piece acoustic band "Shady Pickers."

Marlysse Simmons - Piano
Marlysse earned her degree in Piano from The University of Maryland. She has taught since 2000, and has played professionally in several bands throughout the DC and Richmond area. She is currently playing and composing with BioRitmo (See www.bioritmo.com). She teaches all styles of piano, and she uses composition as a tool in her teaching.

Come join and participate in the best home music education experience. It is the ultimate in music lesson convenience. More importantly, the program will develop, in the student, musicianship from the foundation up.
